Kari Samantha Wuhrer (born April 28, 1967) is an American actor and a singer. The career of Wuhrer began when she was a teenager. Her most well-known role is Maggie Beckett, an actress in the film Sliders and also Sheriff Samantha Parker from the horror comedy Eight Legged Freaks. Wuhrer is the daughter Karin Noble (nee Noble), who works as an accountant for payroll and German American Andrew Wuhrer (a car dealer and police officer). The couple has three brothers. As a teenager was a nightclub singer and would sneak out of the family home to perform. She is the daughter an American-born father from Germany as well as a mother from Germany. Kari has three brothers and sisters. Kari was a nightclub singer as teens, sneaking out of the house to sing. Kari was studying acting by the time she was just 13 years old. She then studied drama at Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and Columbia University. Marymount Manhattan College in addition to at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in collaboration together with Uta Hagen, a renowned instructor. Kari started acting as a teenager, and her first TV break coming on 1987's MTV Remote Control.
