Robyn Rihanna Fenty 2 (/ri’aen@/ (listen) Ree-AN -@;[3][4][n 1 was born on the 20th of February, 1988. She is a Barbadian actor, singer and businesswoman. Rihanna was born in Saint Michael, Barbados and raised there. She was a candidate for Evan Rogers, an American record producer, who invited her to record demo tapes in the United States. Following her joining Def Jam, in 2005 Rihanna gained a lot of attention through the release of her first two studio albums: Music of the Sun (2005) and A Girl Like Me (2006). The albums heavily influenced by Caribbean music, and made it to the top ten positions on the US Billboard 200 Chart. Good Girl Gone Bad (2007) was Rihanna’s third album. This album featured elements of dance-pop, making her a symbol of sex within the music industry. The top charting single "Umbrella" was the single that earned Rihanna her first Grammy Award and catapulted her into the spotlight. She continued to mix dance, pop and R&B genres on her next studio albums, Rated R (2009) Loud (2010) and Talk That Talk (2011), and Unapologetic (2012) The last of which became her first Billboard 200 number one. A number of chart-topping singles came out from the albums such as "Rude Boy", ("Only Girl in the World")", and "What's My Name?" ", "S&M","We Found Love, "Where Have You Been” and "Diamonds". Anti (2016) was her eighth studio album. It showcased a new creative control after she left Def Jam. The album was her second US number one album, and also featured the hit single "Work". Rihanna has collaborated with numerous artists throughout her music career. Rihanna is the second-most-sold female musician having sold more than 250 million albums sold across the world. She has earned 14 number-ones and 31 top-ten singles in the US and 30 top-ten entries in the UK. Her awards include nine Grammy Awards, 13 American Music Awards (including the Icon Award), 12 Billboard Music Awards, six Guinness World Records, the NAACP's President's Award, and an Academy Award nomination. Time identified her as one of the top 100 influential people on the planet in 2012and 2018. Forbes classified her as one of the top 10 highest-paid stars in 2012 and 2014.
